|Does this entire tile floor need to be replaced?
This IS old stuff. There are a few pieces missing and the grout needs to be redone. Hmmm… only four small pieces are missing and the replacement pieces cannot be found anywhere.
What about behind the toilet? Scavenge the pieces from less conspicuous places and fill the new voids with any tile that “matches”. Re-grout the existing. This will look pretty good and will stay that way for years to come. You saved (at least) $500 on ripping up and installing a new tile floor for an average size bathroom.
